SkySong Inks Leases Totaling More Than 37,000 Square Feet

Three new leases and two renewed leases totaling more than 37,000 square feet have SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center nearing full occupancy in its four commercial office buildings.

The new leases include:

• Leading national IT solutions company vCore Techology Partners

• IntelliTRACS, a real-time identification, assessment, and financial exceptions control provider

• Medical device company Neolight

vCore Technology Partners is moving its national corporate headquarters and approximately 50 employees to a 9,300 square-foot space in SkySong 4. vCore provides customized IT solutions such as infrastructure, cloud storage and data protection to more than 100 companies across the United States and Canada. It currently has seven locations.

“SkySong has the high tech feel, vibrant public spaces, modern architecture, and nearby amenities that will enable us to continue to attract and inspire the brightest minds to keep us at the forefront of the Information technology industry,” said vCore founder and CEO Steve Leavitt.

intelliTRACS is movings its headquarters and twelve employees to an approximately 4,000 square-foot space in SkySong 4. It provides identification, assessment, and control of financial exceptions caused by payment failures, trade breaks, and service inquiries. It is part of SunGard’s IntelliSUITE of solutions.

Neolight, which was founded within SkySong, is moving its 10 employees into a 2,300 square foot space in SkySong 2. The company, which designs and manufactures technology to treat infants with life-threatening medical conditions, will house their headquarters and research facility at SkySong, providing a great example of a startup company growing and expanding inside the project.

In addition to the new leases, two SkySong tenants have also renewed leases, including:

• Century Link has renewed its 12,564 square-foot space with a long-term lease.

• Canon has renewed its 9,081 square-foot space with a long-term lease.

Tech Giant Oracle Moves Into Large Presence at SkySong

One of the giants of technology companies is relocating its presence in Arizona by leasing a significant space at SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center.

Oracle, headquartered in Redwood City, California and a company known as one of the largest and most innovative in the tech sector, is opening a +/-15,000-square-foot office in SkySong 3. The space will house more than 75 employees in critical areas such as software development, human resources and sales.

Companies locating at SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center are starting to see a trend — they end up needing more space over the course of time because of their growth.

LiveOps To Open New Offices at SkySong

Tenants at SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center will be connected to Old Town Scottsdale like never before.

The SkySong campus, located on the southeast corner of Scottsdale Road & McDowell Road in Scottsdale, has begun receiving daily shuttle service from 11am-2pm via Ollie the Trolley to Old Town. The trolley picks up tenants under the campus Shade Structure. Tenants can take advantage of the great restaurants in the downtown space and browse art galleries and shops without worrying about parking.

Major Consumer Healthcare Innovator Coming to SkySong

Theranos, Which Eyes Revolutionizing Lab Testing Industry, To Have Significant Presence in New SkySong 3 Building

A major consumer healthcare innovator shaping the future of lab testing will plant a significant flag at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center.

Theranos, based in Palo Alto, California, has leased a 20,000-square-foot wing at SkySong 3, making it one of the largest tenants in the entire SkySong project. Beating all expectations, SkySong 3 is now over 80% leased as it nears its opening later this summer.

The move by Theranos means hundreds of jobs will be created at SkySong in the short term, with that figure increasing significantly as the company continues to grow.

Founded in 2003 by Elizabeth Holmes, Theranos is working to shape the future of lab testing and the way health information is collected, analyzed, and communicated. Theranos, in the words of one media outlet, “could turn the diagnostics industry upside down” and has the potential to save Arizona taxpayers $1.3 billion dollars over the next decade. Their service provides Phoenix-area consumers with convenient access to less invasive and more affordable clinician-directed lab testing from blood samples as small as a few drops collected from a tiny finger stick. Theranos has a national partnership with Walgreens and has been rolling out its Wellness Centers inside Walgreens stores across the U.S., including 25 locations and counting in central Arizona.

With its SkySong agreement, Theranos is expanding its footprint in the Valley. The company currently has an office in Kierland, and its signature presence at SkySong is the perfect fit for its rapidly growing entrepreneurial endeavor. CBRE acted as the company’s commercial real estate agent.

With SkySong 3 approaching full occupancy, leasing is now well underway for SkySong 4.  The four-story, 150,000 SF building which will front Scottsdale Road south of SkySong Boulevard, is scheduled to break ground in late 2014.  Along with SkySong 3 and 4, the SkySong development team is now leasing a planned 10,500 square foot retail building to be built on the northeast corner of Scottsdale Road and SkySong Boulevard. It’s part of the overall mixed-use vision for SkySong, which will include 1.2 million square feet of development when completed.
